The Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable tourism in Cyprus. Established in 2006, CSTI works in collaboration with local communities, businesses, and international partners to develop responsible tourism practices that benefit the environment, local economy, and cultural heritage.

Mission

CSTI’s mission is to promote sustainable tourism development by encouraging environmentally responsible practices, supporting local businesses, and ensuring that tourism benefits the people of Cyprus while preserving the island’s natural beauty and traditions.

Vision

The organization envisions a thriving tourism industry in Cyprus that operates in harmony with the environment, enhances local livelihoods, and safeguards the island’s rich cultural heritage for future generations.

Key Objectives:

  • Encouraging eco-friendly tourism by minimizing the environmental impact of travel.

  • Supporting local businesses and communities by fostering stronger connections between tourists and local producers.

  • Raising awareness about sustainable tourism among visitors, stakeholders, and policymakers.

  • Promoting collaborative projects that align with global sustainability goals.

Through its initiatives, CSTI plays a pivotal role in making Cyprus a model destination for sustainable and responsible tourism, ensuring long-term benefits for both residents and visitors alike.
